As a marriage therapist and researcher, I couldn't put this book down. It takes the reader into the belly of the beast of American family life--the family court, where there are enough dramas for many sequels. Many of the stories are heart breaking, and others are inspiring. The central character, a lonely and sardonic judge, is a modern-day Don Quixote jousting at the divorce-industrial complex and holding tight to a belief that many couples can save their marriages if we don't give up on them. You will weep with him and cheer him on.
